Our Kindergarten (4 - 5 years)
In The Wharf, our dynamic and inspiring space for 4-year-old kindergarten children, we foster growing independence, curiosity, and confidence as they prepare to transition to primary school. With room for up to 22 children, this classroom is led by a Bachelor qualified educator dedicated to nurturing each child’s unique strengths and interests.
Learning here is hands-on and child-centred, focusing on developing practical skills like self-management, communication, and problem-solving that set the foundation for a positive and confident start to school. Our educators create engaging experiences that encourage children to think critically, collaborate with peers, and take pride in their achievements.
The program balances structured learning moments with plenty of opportunities for imaginative play, exploration, and discovery — all within a supportive and respectful environment that celebrates each child’s voice and choices.
Outdoor play is a vital part of the day in The Wharf, where children enjoy a shared expansive yard with the 3-year-old group. This space offers varied opportunities for physical challenge, social play, and connecting with nature, helping children build confidence in their bodies and social skills.
Community involvement and real-world experiences are also woven into the curriculum, with excursions and local outings that broaden children’s horizons and deepen their understanding of their place in the world.
In The Wharf, we prepare children not just in their knowledge and skills but as capable, confident learners and leaders ready to embrace their next big adventure: starting school.
